Botanical Garden Newsletter
Message from the Chief Editor 2021/05/01 <NEW>
In 2020, under the raging COVID-19 pandemic, the number of infections exceeded 140 million, and the death toll reached 3 million, which is really worrying, as of mid-April 2021. Fortunately, under the positive control, Taiwan can still maintain normal work and class, which can be considered a lucky country.
Because of this, many large gatherings were suspended or postponed, which affected the arrangements for the alumni to return to school. However, the editorial department of the Botanical Garden still adheres to the spirit of service and continues to publish the Botanical Garden in 2021. This issue reports on the Greenhouse of the Institute of Plant Biology that was officially completed and opened on March 16, 2021, and shares the course of several years of preparations. There are "Scientific Drawings of Wang Ying", "Teacher Huang Zengquan's Travel Notes in South Africa", "Zeng Yuxin's Introduction and New Discoveries of Stairway Plants", "Cai Zhengxiu-Taiwan's Birds and Dinosaur Fossils", and "Dr. Chen Junhao, a new teacher of the Academy of Sciences" .
On the eve of the deadline, we noticed that Tsay, Yi-Fang, an alumna of the Department of Botany, was selected as a Member of the National Academy of Sciences (America). We would like to take this opportunity to share our joy with you and look forward to bringing you warm messages on this tense day.
